DocuClipper Alternative for Accountants and Bookkeepers
StatementsConverter is a DocuClipper alternative built for one job, turning PDF and scanned bank and credit card statements into Excel, CSV, QBO, OFX, QIF and Xero files. On yearly billing it gives you 400 pages for 24 USD a month, and every statement is balance checked before you export.

The short answer for firms comparing the two
If most of your volume is bank and credit card statements, StatementsConverter usually costs less per page than DocuClipper, because its plans include several times more statement pages at each price point. DocuClipper is the stronger pick if you also need invoices, receipts, checks and tax forms in the same tool, or a direct push into QuickBooks Online, Sage or NetSuite.
Both tools read text PDFs and scans, export to the common accounting formats and let you review rows before export. The real differences are page allowance, document scope and how each one proves that a statement came out complete.

What a statement page costs on each tool
For a firm that converts mostly statements, the number that matters is cost per page at your real monthly volume. The figures below divide the yearly billing price by the included pages.
| Monthly volume | StatementsConverter plan | Cost per page | DocuClipper plan | Cost per page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Up to 60 pages | Starter, 24 USD | about 0.06 USD at 400 pages | Starter, 20.30 USD | about 0.34 USD |
| Around 600 pages | Professional, 74 USD | about 0.05 USD at 1,500 pages | Business, 111.30 USD | about 0.17 USD |
| Around 1,800 pages | Business, 249 USD | about 0.05 USD at 5,000 pages | Enterprise, 279.30 USD | about 0.16 USD |
A practice with 40 clients and two or three statement accounts each will typically land between 300 and 900 pages a month. On those volumes the Professional plan covers the work with room for catch-up months, which is where the difference shows up during tax season.
Full plan details are on the bank statement converter pricing page.
When DocuClipper is the better choice
We would rather you pick the right tool than switch twice. DocuClipper makes more sense in these cases.
- You need invoices, receipts, checks, W-2 and 1099 forms extracted in the same tool as your statements
- You want transactions pushed straight into QuickBooks Online, Sage, NetSuite or Business Central instead of importing a file
- Your team is large and you prefer unlimited users over a fixed number of seats
- You need API access on an entry level plan
- You want built in cash flow and fraud analysis on top of extraction
If none of those apply and your work is statements in, ledger out, the rest of this page explains what you gain by switching.
Why accountants move statement work to StatementsConverter
- Several times more statement pages for the money, so catch-up clients and year end backlogs do not push you into the next tier
- A balance check on every statement and every page, so a dropped deposit is found before import, not at reconciliation
- Wrapped descriptions merged into one row and page headers, footers and marketing inserts skipped
- QBO files with a stable FITID on every row, so re-exporting a statement never creates duplicates in QuickBooks
- Client workspaces and saved categorization rules, so next month's statements arrive coded the way you code them
- Files encrypted in transit and at rest, deleted after 24 hours by default and never used to train models
How the balance check proves a statement is complete
Every statement is tested the way you would test it by hand. The printed opening balance, plus credits, minus debits, has to land on the printed closing balance, and each page is checked against its own running balance as well.
When the numbers disagree, the table shows the exact page and row range where they stop agreeing. You fix one row in the editor, the check runs again, and only then do you export.
That one control is the reason most firms switch. A converter that cannot tell you whether it missed a line pushes the checking back onto your staff.
How to move from DocuClipper in an afternoon
- Pick three statements you already converted in DocuClipper, ideally one clean PDF, one scan and one credit card statement
- Convert them here and compare row counts and closing balances against your existing files
- Create your account on the plan that matches your monthly page volume, and set up a workspace for each active client
- Choose the export each client needs, Excel, CSV, QBO for QuickBooks, OFX, QIF or the Xero CSV
- Run the next month end batch here and keep your old exports for reference until the first reconciliation is done
For QuickBooks clients the PDF to QBO converter page covers account setup and the Web Connect import, and Xero practices can follow the bank statement to Xero workflow.
Who StatementsConverter is built for
- CPA firms and tax preparers rebuilding a year of transactions for clients who arrive with PDFs
- Bookkeepers closing the month for clients whose bank feed broke or never connected
- Fractional CFOs and controllers cleaning up a new client's history before taking over the books
- Small businesses posting statements from banks without a QuickBooks or Xero feed
- Lending and underwriting teams that need statement data through the bank statement parser API

What is the best alternative to DocuClipper
For firms that mostly convert bank and credit card statements, StatementsConverter is a strong DocuClipper alternative because it includes 400 to 5,000 statement pages a month depending on plan and balance checks every statement. If you need invoices and tax forms too, compare broader tools such as Docsumo or Nanonets instead.
How much does DocuClipper cost
DocuClipper's pricing page lists Starter at 20.30 USD a month for 60 pages, Business at 111.30 USD a month for 640 pages and Enterprise at 279.30 USD a month for 1,800 pages, all on yearly billing. Monthly billing costs more, and larger page tiers are quoted on request.
Is DocuClipper worth it for bank statements only
It can be, but you pay for document types you will not use. If statements are all you convert, a statement focused tool gives you more pages per dollar and checks each statement against its printed balances before export.
Can I import StatementsConverter files into QuickBooks
Yes. Professional and higher plans export QBO Web Connect files with a unique FITID on every transaction, which import into both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop. CSV exports also work for QuickBooks Online uploads on every plan.
Does StatementsConverter read scanned statements
Yes. Scanned PDFs, JPG and PNG photos are read on every plan, and the balance check runs on scans the same way it does on text PDFs, so a misread digit shows up as a flagged row.
Can I try it before I switch
Yes. You can convert a sample statement right on this page without a card and see the extracted rows and the balance check result before you choose a plan.
